Bordesley Multi Academy Trust

Initially responsible for two sites, the team expanded to a third due to strong performance. Upon takeover, key challenges included understaffing, lack of supervision, and inconsistent cleaning standards leading to client dissatisfaction.

Improvements were driven through regular audits, client engagement, proactive recruitment, and intensive training. An operations manager provided hands-on support during the first two months to strengthen staff-client relationships.

Staffing levels were stabilised by recruiting additional team members, delivering UhUb and supervisor training, and creating a cover team to manage absences.

As a result, audit scores improved to an average of 94%, the team reached a fully staffed level of 18 cleaners, and client relationships significantly strengthened. The client particularly valued having a dedicated manager, reducing their need for direct involvement.

Future plans include expanding to a new site in February 2025 and introducing a Team Leader role to enhance supervisory support.
